Dana's Branch Stream Restoration
The town got back $105,412 from Mecklenburg County for stream restoration design costs it had fronted, improving drinking-water-quality projects without new town spending.
Illicit discharging into Lake Norman
The town is moving to raise stormwater pollution penalties from $10,000 to $25,000 per day and broaden who counts as a violator — formal adoption expected August 17.
Historic preservation — Alexander Farms tenant house and Dr. Washam house
Two residents pressed the Board to protect historic structures: watch the developer on tree preservation during the tenant house relocation, and consider saving Dr. Washam's former home.
Stormwater runoff from the inn site
Neighbors worry more impervious surface will send runoff toward adjacent properties. The project must meet the town's high-density stormwater ordinance with two detention ponds, outfalling west and north.
Watershed impervious-surface (BUA) transfers
Two properties bought extra buildable impervious area from donor lots within the same watershed — the state-required mechanism for lake-friendly development. Both transfers cleared the Watershed Review Board unanimously.
