Code Enforcement Collections Framework
The city is owed about $3.9 million for mowing, cleanups and demolitions on private property — roughly $2 million of it interest and penalties. New framework keeps collecting valid debts, adds quarterly statements, payment plans, a validation/appeal process, and lets the City Manager and CFO jointly waive interest and penalties only.
Downtown Municipal Service District Adjustments
49 townhome and condo units at 301 Bragg Boulevard pay the 14.89-cent downtown MSD tax but sit across Bragg from the core downtown. Council agreed 6-4 to start removing them; expect roughly a $28,000 hole in the ~$340,000 downtown budget and a decision folded into the FY 2028 budget.
Fiscal Year 2026-2027 Municipal Budget
The council held a public hearing on the proposed $323 million municipal budget, which includes a recommended three-cent property tax increase.
FY2027-32 Capital Improvement Program
City leaders reviewed a $670 million six-year capital plan to balance community growth needs with fiscal responsibility.
