Partisan Municipal Elections Legislation
Summary
State lawmakers just made most Forsyth County city and town races partisan, so ballots will now show party labels. That means candidates will run as Democrats or Republicans, and local elections could get more nationalized—and more expensive.

Impact analysis
It won’t hit your property tax bill directly, but expect pricier campaigns as party money and outside spending flow into local races.
Political parties and candidates with strong party networks benefit most, since they’ll get labels, resources, and built-in turnout.
Unaffiliated candidates and voters who prefer local races focused on potholes, zoning, and services over party politics could lose out.
