Vehicle Repair Facility Expansion Rezoning (366 Amity Church Road)

Rezoning decisions at US 321 and Maiden Highway corridors
The board denied a gas-station-friendly rezoning at 3623 Maiden Highway and another near Pilot Nob Road, while approving several other rezonings including a swap near an existing conditional district. These decisions shape what can be built along key corridors.
Catawba Springs Township Rezoning Wave
Five rezoning requests along the NC 16 corridor and Pilot Knob Road could bring commercial development — banks and low-impact retail near Riverwalk apartments, and a glass shop on Pilot Knob Road. Neighbors worry about traffic and industrial uses next to homes.
Walmart drone delivery hub in Denver

Residents packed the hearing to object to noise, privacy, crash risk, and impacts on schools, churches, and wildlife — and asked the county to adopt comprehensive drone rules first.
