Impact analysis
The money impact is likely small and local—think detours, access hassles, and possible costs for nearby homes or businesses rather than a citywide budget hit.
People who want less traffic or safer streets near the closure could come out ahead, along with whatever project the city is trying to accommodate.
Nearby residents, drivers, delivery services, and businesses that depend on that street or alley could get stuck with longer routes or lost access.
